Keelah Barger

Sports Played: 
Track (9th – 12th Grade), Soccer (9th – 11th Grade), Cross Country (12th Grade)
Athletic Success: 

Keelah started her running career as a sprinter, eventually developing into a mid- and long-distance runner. She has enjoyed success as a 400m runner and was a state champion in the 4x4. By her senior year, she was amongst the top state middle distance runners in multiple events, and ultimately, she took first place in the 1600 (Division 4). She capped off her senior cross country season as a member of the State Champ XC team, as a 3rd place individual.

Keelah was also an All-Section Second Team selection and a team captain for NPA soccer, which she gave up senior year to pursue competing in cross country.

Community & Character: 

Keelah is described by members of the community as determined, disciplined, humble, and a leader. This is also evident by her position as captain for soccer, track, and cross country. Keelah volunteers with People's Pantry and acts as a mentor for middle school peers. She is also a National Honor Society Officer.

Future Plans: 

In 2018, Keelah will attend honors college and run track and cross country at The University of Arizona. She plans to major in biochemistry with the goal of becoming a pediatric surgeon.
