Athletes who participate in sports where there is a chance for head injury and concussion should take part in the ImPACT concussion test.  ImPACT is a computerized neurocognitive assessment tool that helps health care providers evaluate and manage concussion.  The ImPACT system is the most widely used concussion assessment tool, and is used by multiple youth and professional organizations including the US Ski and Snowboard Teams.  A Baseline ImPACT test is administered before the start of the school year or sport season, and is repeated every two years.  If an athlete sustains a concussion, then a Post-Injury Test is then administered.  The Post-Injury Test result is then compared with the Baseline Test in order to determine degree of return of neurocognitive function.  These results assist your Doctor or health care provider in determining when, or if, it is safe to return to sport competition.

All athletes older than 12 YEARS, who participate in sports where there is a chance for head injury should complete a BASELINE ImPACT Concussion Test.  Need based assistance available.
